Netflix audiences are in for an emotional rollercoaster as “One Too Many,” directed by Kayode Kasum, makes its debut on Feb. 23, 2024. This feature drama, penned by Ginika Ozioko and Jeanine Okafor, promises to unravel a poignant narrative centered around Adesuwa and her family’s struggle against the complexities of a flawed justice system.

The plot unfolds with the family ensnared in a series of unfortunate encounters with uniformed individuals, culminating in Adesuwa’s son being falsely accused of murder. As the protagonist fights for justice, “One Too Many” explores the intricate dynamics of family, resilience, and the daunting journey faced by those entangled in legal injustice.

Featuring an ensemble cast including Dakore Egbuson, Chimezie Imo, Omowunmi Dada, and the late Rachel Oniga, among others, the film promises stellar performances that bring depth to the characters. The production, helmed by Atinuke Akinde and Joy Grant-Ekang of Hope Pictures, captures the essence of the story in Ibadan, with scenes unfolding at the University of Ibadan.

Akinde describes “One Too Many” as an emotional journey reflecting the harsh realities endured by those on the wrong side of the Nigerian law. The film, which gained recognition at the 2022 African International Film Festival (AFRIFF), is set to resonate with audiences seeking a thought-provoking exploration of societal issues.

As the streaming giant Netflix prepares to host “One Too Many” on Feb. 23, 2024, the film not only promises a viewing experience but an immersive journey into justice, family, and resilience.
