Phoenix Fury, the multi-award-winning drama written and directed by Ifeoma Nkiruka Chukwuogo, is set to hit Nigerian cinemas on October 30 following an acclaimed festival run.
Chukwuogo’s feature directorial debut stars Onyinye Odokoro, Uzoamaka Power, formerly known as Aniunoh, Tina Mba, Richard Mofe-Damijo, Joseph Momodu, and Ama K. Abebrese, among others.

The film won Best Director for Chukwuogo at the 2024 AFRIFF Globe Awards, where it was also named Best Film. It later received a nomination for Best Writing (Film) at the 2025 AMVCA.
Chukwuogo, who also produced the film, announced the cinema release date in a social media post accompanied by a teaser, nearly two years after the film was produced and began its festival journey.

Phoenix Fury follows two women, Ewura-Ama and Ifeatu, whose lives are shaped by loss and injustice. Their shared experiences eventually draw them together on a quest for revenge.
With its cinema release, Phoenix Fury will move beyond the festival circuit to reach a wider Nigerian audience, with Nile Entertainment handling its theatrical distribution.
