Quramo Festival of Words 2024 Kicks Off on October 2?

The seventh edition of the Quramo Festival of Words (QFEST) will take place in Lagos, Nigeria, from October 2 to 6, 2024.

This year’s festival is themed “The Shifting,” reflecting the evolving global landscape and exploring new narratives that align with the current times.

First held in December 2017, QFEST has become a key cultural event in Lagos, offering attendees a variety of activities including masterclasses, book readings, workshops, and theatre performances. Over the years, the festival has adapted, featuring both virtual and physical editions.

In 2024, festival-goers can expect a rich program filled with book chats, spoken word poetry, stage plays, and panel sessions led by experts. One of the festival’s highlights remains the word slam open mic competition, where participants compete for a cash prize.

Another major attraction is the Quramo Writers’ Prize, which awards an unpublished manuscript by an unpublished author. The prize winner, currently in the longlist phase, will be announced during the festival.
