“Sinners” Bows Out of Nigerian Cinemas

With a ₦775.8 million lifetime gross, the vampire horror-thriller ranks as the fifth highest-grossing film in Nigeria and the third biggest foreign title.

Ryan Coogler’s vampire horror-thriller, “Sinners,” has concluded its 13-week theatrical run in Nigerian cinemas.

 

The original film opened strong, earning ₦106 million in its first two weekends, followed by ₦89 million and ₦71 million in its third and fourth weekends, respectively.

 

“Sinners” closed with a lifetime gross of ₦775.8 million, placing it as the fifth highest-grossing film in Nigeria and West Africa, and the third highest-grossing foreign film in the region. This comes exactly two months after it broke into the region’s all time top ten.

 

 In the U.S., the film ended its theatrical run as the third-highest-grossing horror film of all time and the tenth-highest-grossing R-rated title, with a domestic total of $278 million. Globally, “Sinners” has earned $365 million to date.
