British-Nigerian actor, Afolabi Salokun has announced his intention to enter the Nollywood industry in a leading role. Known for his standout performances in “Blue Story” (2019) and “My Brudda” (2023), he aims to amplify African stories on a global scale.
In a recent interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on June 4, 2025, Salokun expressed his passion for deep storytelling and roles that explore the complexities of the human experience.
“Today, Nollywood has gained international recognition, and I am excited to be part of this growing industry.

“My acting career has already taken me to Netflix, Blue Story, BBC/Paramount, as well as various stage productions and short films.
“I am now focused on expanding my reach into Nollywood, where I hope to collaborate with industry professionals and showcase my talent,” he said.
Salokun described Nollywood as a unique platform that offers leading roles celebrating Nigeria’s rich culture.
With his growing passion for Nollywood and his global experience, Salokun hopes to create timeless films that go beyond entertainment.
