That Good Media (TGM), the public relations, talent management, and communications agency led by Toyosi Etim-Effiong, is set to launch TGM Academy in September, describing it as Nigeria’s first institution dedicated to training talent managers.
Designed for both emerging and established professionals, the academy aims to equip talent managers with the practical skills and industry knowledge needed to support the growth of Nigeria’s creative economy.
Ahead of the launch, TGM will host a Talent Management Leadership Roundtable on July 28, according to a press statement made available to The Nollywood Reporter (TNR).
Themed “Talent Management as Critical Infrastructure for Cultural Exchange and the Creative Economy,” the roundtable will bring together senior talent managers, entertainment and media executives, creatives, cultural institutions, diplomats, and other key stakeholders shaping Nigeria’s creative sector.
The event is being organized in partnership with the Lagos State Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture; Megowa—a digital platform connecting Nollywood talent with industry opportunities; and the French Consulate, led by His Excellency Marc Fonbaustier.

Rather than a traditional conference, the roundtable is designed as a high-level knowledge exchange, creating space for candid conversations about the future of talent management and its role in strengthening the creative economy.
According to TGM, insights from the discussions will directly inform the academy’s curriculum, partnerships, and learning framework ahead of its official launch.
The event will also serve as the launchpad for the TGM Academy Scholarship Fund, an initiative aimed at ensuring aspiring talent managers are not excluded from world-class professional education because of financial constraints.
TGM says the academy was established to address gaps in the professional structures that support creative talent. Through its training programmes, it hopes to develop globally competitive talent managers capable of strengthening Nigeria’s creative ecosystem.
