The end is near for the Primetime Emmy award-nominated superhero series, “The Umbrella Academy.” After a whirlwind three seasons, it will be ending with a fourth season set to premiere on Netflix on Aug. 8.
Slated for a six-episode run, the original cast members – Tom Hopper, Elliot Page, David Castaneda, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Robert Sheehan, and Adam Gallagher – will reprise their superhero roles. In addition, Javon Walton, Megan Mullally, Nick Offerman, and David Cross will join the cast for the final season.
Traces of the final season of “The Umbrella Academy” have been teased as far back as early 2023 when the show’s creator Steve Blackman posted a storyboard featuring one of the characters unleashing an enormous amount of power. Who that is has not been confirmed, but what is known is that the first episode of the fourth season is titled, “The Unbearable Tragedy of Getting What You Want.” Netflix confirmed this with a photo of the front page of the script for the final season.
Details of the fourth season have been kept a secret, but it is expected that it will chronicle the Hargreeves siblings’ journey through time and space as they try to stop their alter egos, The Sparrow Academy, from taking their identities.
The trailer for the fourth season of “The Umbrella Academy” will be released soon.
