Ahead of its May debut, The Devil Wears Prada 2 has been projected to become the third movie of 2026 to gross over $100 million opening weekend globally based on early strong reviews and nostalgic star power.
The Global Box Office’s projection is one out of many suggesting a $75 million to $80 million domestic opening and up to $190 million total opening worldwide.
The sequel to David Frankel’s hit 2006 comedy drama, recently scored 79% on Rotten Tomatoes from 117 reviews, particularly praising its glossy visuals, blend of nostalgia and refreshing portrayal of the fashion media.

The Devil Wears Prada 2, directed by Frankel sees Meryl Streep as Miranda Priestly, Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs, Emily Blunt as Emily Charlton and Stanley Tucci as Nigel Kipling returning to their iconic roles. The story picks up from where the original plot left off to highlight significant growth in characters’ personalities, positions and relationships.
Beyond these positive local and global box office projections, the coming days will determine if The Devil Wears Prada 2 will eventually deliver on these expectations or not.
