The directorial debut by Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong holds second place among the top six movies after grossing over ₦80 million in 10 days.
“The Herd” Continues Impressive Box Office Run, Grosses ₦80M
Ten days after its impressive cinema debut and opening week, Etim Daniel Effiong’s directorial debut, The Herd, has grossed over N80 million in earnings, just N20 million shy of the N100 million milestone.
Chronicling the harsh reality of kidnapping in Nigeria, the film starring Effiong alongside Genoveva Umeh and Kunle Remi ranked as the No. 2 film of the week, according to data from the Nigerian Box Office.
In a recent X (formerly Twitter) post, the Nigerian Box Office reported that The Herd added ₦33.7 million during the week to reach its current total.
Meanwhile, Gingerrr continues to lead the Nigerian box office with ₦379.7 million after five weeks, making it the top title for the fifth consecutive week. With this performance, Gingerrr has also entered the top 10 list of Nollywood’s highest-grossing films of all time.

Idia, an Edo mythological horror film featuring Mercy Aigbe, made a new entry with ₦6.1 million, lower than other recent epic releases such as Ori: Rebirth, which opened with N19.3million. Similarly, Osamede has grossed ₦16.6 million in two weeks, about ₦3 million short of Ori: Rebirth’s debut.
