Love & New Notes, the Nollywood romantic thriller set against Nigeria’s 1984 currency change, has grossed N185 million at the box office within 10 days of release.
The figure places the film just N15 million shy of the N200 million milestone. It also follows its record as the biggest opening of 2026 and its emergence as the No. 1 film of the weekend.
Timini Egbuson, who plays the lead and produced the film, announced the latest earnings on Instagram, thanking audiences in Nigeria and Ghana for their support. The project marks his second cinema release as a producer.

Directed by Kayode Kasum and produced by Egbuson, Love & New Notes stars Sophie Alakija, Eniola Badmus, Toluwani George and Akinyoola Ayoola. The film blends romance and suspense within a period setting.
If the current pace continues, the film could surpass Egbuson’s previous production, Reel Love, which earned N356 million during its theatrical run. Its performance in the coming weeks will determine whether it reaches that benchmark.
