Nollywood director and cinematographer Tosin Igho has released the official trailer for his upcoming African fantasy short film, The Last Trial, scheduled to premiere on January 31, 2026.
Igho shared the trailer on Instagram, offering a first look at performances by Folu Storms and Jimmy Odukoya. Odukoya is also a senior pastor at The Fountain of Life Church.
According to Igho, The Last Trial marks his return to filmmaking tutorials, with the project serving both as a narrative film and a teaching tool for the technical filmmaking process.
Footage from the trailer shows Storms and Odukoya locked in a tense confrontation, dressed in African war costumes, as Storms’ character displays supernatural abilities, setting the tone for a fantasy-driven conflict.

The film continues Igho’s interest in African fantasy storytelling, a genre he previously explored in his award-winning project Suspicion.
Igho also revealed that The Last Trial, produced by Nkeiru Nwaobiala under Divergent Films, is intended as a proof of concept for a feature-length film currently in development.
The Last Trial premieres on January 31, 2026.
