Nollywood actors Uzor Arukwe and Nancy Isime have been added to the cast of The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives, the upcoming film adaptation of Lola Shoneyin’s novel.
Mo Abudu, CEO of EbonyLife Group, announced the update on Instagram in December, sharing a cast reveal image that also featured Damilola Adegbite, Faithia Balogun, Blessing Nze, Mike Ezuruonye, Nkechi Blessing, Maleek Sanni, and Mallum Arik.
Based on Shoneyin’s 2010 novel of the same title, the film follows Baba Segi, his four wives, and their children, exploring themes of patriarchy, power, and family dynamics.
First published in 2010, The Secret Lives of Baba Segi’s Wives is widely regarded as a notable work in African literature, known for its portrayal of domestic relationships and hidden tensions within a polygamous household.

EbonyLife Films is producing the adaptation, marking its return to the big screen after a five-year break. The project is being developed in partnership with Genesis Cinemas, Nile Entertainment, and Silverbird Group.
Arukwe and Isime join an already announced cast that includes Iyabo Ojo, Bimbo Ademoye, Mercy Aigbe, Femi Branch, and Tina Mba.
The film is expected to premiere in cinemas in December.
