Afrobeats sensations Ayodeji ‘Wizkid’ Balogun and Ahmed ‘Asake’ Ololade have made history with the release of their joint EP, Real Vol. 1, which has become the first Afrobeats extended play (EP) to peak at number one on the UK Apple Albums Chart.

The four-track project, featuring “Turbulence,” “Jogodo,” “Iskolodo,” and “Alaye,” was unveiled by the duo on Instagram through a promotional video captioned, “Real EP Vol. 1 ti jade bayi.”

The achievement follows the massive success of the lead single “Jogodo,” released earlier, which broke streaming records on Spotify Nigeria with 1.388 million streams on its first day making it the highest single-day total ever for a collaborative release in the country and biggest streaming week for any song in Spotify Nigeria history. The track debuted at number one on Spotify Nigeria and climbed to number 82 on the global chart.

This latest collaboration and achievement adds to the pair’s growing list of joint hits, including “MMS” and “Bad Girl,” further highlighting their dominance in the Afrobeats scene locally and internationally.

Individually, both artistes have also enjoyed remarkable success in 2025, with Wizkid emerging the most streamed artiste on streaming platforms Apple Music and Spotify while his album Morayo emerging as the most-streamed album on Apple Music Nigeria, while Asake’s “Why Love” claimed the title of most-streamed song in 2025.
