Afrobeats sensation Wizkid proves his star power once again with his sixth studio album, “Morayo.” The chart-topping album has made history as the first Afrobeats album to have all songs chart on the Billboard U.S Afrobeats Charts for the eighth consecutive week.

All sixteen tracks occupy various spots on the charts for the week of Jan. 25, 2025, the highest charting single being the slow R&B ballad “Piece of My Heart” featuring Brent Faiyaz sitting at number five; the dancehall bop “Don’t Care” charts in the lower rank at number forty-seven, rounding up this historic feat.

Released on Nov. 22, 2024, “Morayo” has been praised by critics for its romantic sounds and reflective energy as Wizkid shows multiple sides of him beyond the celebrity persona. The album’s chart-breaking feat is among many others as it still holds the record for the biggest first-week streams for an African album on Spotify Nigeria with 42 million streams.

So far, the album has garnered 413.2 million streams across all streaming platforms in its second month of tracking. It has the potential to hit the elusive one billion mark before summer 2025.

The chart performance of Morayo is a testament to Wizkid’s evolving artistry as he continues to show why he is one of the biggest names in African music. Fans (Wizkid FC) eagerly anticipate whether the Grammy winner and recent nominee will hit the road this summer as he has hinted at a potential tour in 2025.
