Yellowbone Extends Deadline For NFVF Female Filmmaker Project

Yellowbone Entertainment, an award-winning production company, in collaboration with the National Film and Video Foundation of South Africa (NFVF), has extended the deadline for submissions to the NFVF Female Filmmaker Project to April 7, 2024
The NFVF Female Filmmaker Project aims to empower female filmmakers.
Selected participants will receive mentorship, professional training to enhance their skills, opportunities to connect with fellow filmmakers, and potential screenings and film festival participation.
Layla Swart, Managing Director at Yellowbone Entertainment, described the initiative as a platform for female storytelling. “Our goal is not just to showcase skills; it’s to provide a space for creativity, collaboration, and shaping the future of cinema,” she stated.
Eligibility criteria for the project include:
- At least two years of experience in the film industry
- Belonging to a historically disadvantaged group as defined by the Constitution of South Africa
- Availability to commit the required time over a period of at least 9 months to complete the program (no stipend will be provided)
The submission requirements are: The Film title, Genre, Screen script (scene that captures the essence of the film, genre, mood, storytelling style, characters, and central themes)
The 2024 Theme: “Love Is a Mystery” invites explorations of the mystique surrounding love
