Yemi Alade Joins Other African Artists for AFCON Theme Song

Popular Nigerian artist, Yemi Alade, has joined forces with an ensemble of renowned African artists to create “Akwaba,” the theme song for the 2024 African Cup of Nations (AFCON).
Yemi Alade energetic performance and powerful vocals, combined with that of other artists namely Mohamed Ramadan and Ivorian group, “Magic System” aims at producing a catchy theme song.
In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria, Yemi Alade described this as an honor to represent her country and encourage healthy competition in this sport that is loved by people all over the world. We cannot wait to groove to this song.
The next AFCON begins Jan 13, 2024, and goes on through Feb 11, 2024. The African Cup of Nations brings together 24 national teams from across the continent to compete for the highly coveted championship title.
