Young John (John Saviours Udomboso) has postponed the release of his upcoming album, “Blue Disco,” originally scheduled for November 21, due to Nigeria’s current security situation.
In a statement shared on X, he described the unrest as “unbearable” and urged both leaders and citizens to act responsibly while praying for peace and stability.
“It’s disheartening that Nigeria is still confronted with such overwhelming challenges; the insecurity has become unbearable, and it’s very clear that the leaders and we citizens must rise to do better, even as we pray for God’s strength to guide and sustain us through these difficult times. In light of these, I’ve decided to postpone the release of my album BLUE DISCO to a later date. Above all, I’m praying for healing across our nation that God restores peace, unity, and hope to Nigeria.” He wrote.

“Blue Disco” arrives a year and a half after Young John’s debut album, “Jiggy Forever.” The project reportedly includes 20 tracks and features collaborations with Wizkid, Olamide, Rema, and Asake.
This delay highlights a growing trend among Nigerian artists adjusting release schedules in response to political and social unrest. Tems, for example, postponed the release of her Burning music video in August amid nationwide protests, demonstrating the ongoing impact of national events on the entertainment industry.
