Nigerian singer and producer Young Jonn (real name John Saviours Udomboso) has surpassed one billion streams across all credits on Spotify, becoming the 20th Nigerian artiste to reach the milestone on the platform.
The 31-year-old’s catalogue as a producer played a significant role in the achievement, complementing his solo records such as Xtra Cool (82 million streams) and Aquafina (78 million streams).
Young Jonn joins a growing list of Nigerian acts who have recently crossed the one-billion mark, including Odumodublvck, Ruger, and Oxlade.
At the top of the rankings, Wizkid remains the most-streamed Nigerian artiste on Spotify with 10.77 billion streams, followed by Burna Boy with 9.8 billion. Others in the upper tier include Rema (6.07 billion), Tems (5.34 billion), and Davido (3.71 billion).
Notably, Young Jonn is the only producer on the list. Having built his career behind the scenes, he has increasingly transitioned into a performing artiste, releasing two albums in the past two years.
