James Gunn’s Superman has set a major milestone on HBO Max, earning 13 million views in its first 10 days across more than 80 markets worldwide, according to Variety.

The figure makes it the platform’s strongest 10-day performance of 2025 and its best since Barbie in 2023.

The film outperformed other recent high-profile releases in the same timeframe, including Dune: Part Two, Wonka, A Minecraft Movie, and Godzilla x Kong.

On Samba TV, Superman also posted strong U.S. numbers, drawing 527,000 households during its opening weekend. The tally placed it ahead of the six-day totals of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning (618,000) and A Minecraft Movie (471,000), making it the top performer so far this year.

While Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle recently surpassed Superman to become the seventh highest-grossing film of 2025, the DC release continues to thrive both theatrically and digitally. Warner Bros. has reported a profit of about $125 million from the title, reflecting its wide commercial impact.

Released July 11, 2025, the film stars David Corenswet as Clark Kent/Kal-El, Nicholas Hoult as Lex Luthor, and Rachel Brosnahan as Lois Lane, alongside Nathan Fillion, Edi Gathegi, and Isabela Merced. A sequel, Man of Tomorrow, is already in development.
