Rihanna’s 2016 album Anti has made history by becoming the first album by a Black female solo artiste to spend 500 weeks on the Billboard 200 chart. The album reached this milestone in early December 2025, charting at number 134 on the ranking.
The achievement is particularly remarkable given that Rihanna has not released any new albums since Anti debuted nearly a decade ago in January 2016. During this time, the Barbadian singer has focused primarily on building her fashion and beauty empire under the Fenty brand while raising a family with rapper A$AP Rocky. She has released only a handful of singles during this period, including the Oscar-nominated track “Lift Me Up” for the 2022 film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and “Friend of Mine” from the 2025 Smurfs movie where she played Smurfette.

Anti originally peaked at number one on the Billboard 200, holding the top position for two weeks. The album spawned several Billboard Hot 100 hits, including “Work” featuring Drake, “Needed Me,” and “Love on the Brain.” It earned six Grammy nominations and has sold 10 million copies in the United States alone, while accumulating over 5 billion streams globally. The genre-blending project, which features contributions from Drake, SZA, and producer Boi-1da, combines elements of pop, reggae, and R&B in ways that continue to attract new listeners.
Rihanna responded to the news of her chart milestone on December 1, 2025, via the social media platform X, writing simply, “God ain’t forget bout me!”
