The organisers of the 27th Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA) have unveiled nominees for the African Song of the Year category, with Nigerian artistes strongly represented on the shortlist.
Davido leads the Nigerian entries with two nominations, while Rema, Burna Boy, Shallipopi, and Fido also earned recognition.
The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on Saturday, May 9, 2026.
Davido’s 2025 single “With You,” featuring Omah Lay and taken from his 5ive album, is among the nominees. The track was one of the year’s biggest releases globally. He also secured a second nomination with “Nakupenda,” an Amapiano collaboration with South African duo TXC, alongside Shoday, Scotts Maphuma, Zlatan, and AL Xapo.
Other Nigerian entries include Rema’s “Kelebu,” Fido’s “Joy Is Coming,” and “Laho II” by Shallipopi and Burna Boy. South African artiste Tyla is also nominated for her 2025 single “Chanel.”
At the previous edition, the award was won by “Tshwala Bam,” the continental hit by Titom, Yuppe, and Burna Boy.
