Several Nigerian artistes recorded notable Spotify milestones following a wave of Friday releases, with new streaming figures highlighting continued growth for Afrobeats globally.
Adekunle Gold became the 22nd Nigerian artiste to surpass 900 million total Spotify streams, marking a new career high on the platform.
Davido further widened his lead among Afrobeats acts, reaching 3.7 billion streams across all credits. Tems also posted a significant milestone, rising to 5.3 billion total streams.
Rising singer Qing Madi recorded her biggest streaming day on Spotify to date, driven by the release of “Pepper Me,” a collaboration with Zinoleesky and KFMD. The song debuted at No. 2 on the Spotify Nigeria Daily Top Songs chart with 211,000 streams.
Wizkid also crossed 19 million monthly listeners on Spotify for the first time. Despite this, Tems remains the Nigerian and African artiste with the highest recorded monthly listeners on the platform, peaking at 43 million.
In a separate development, Wizkid’s collaboration with Asake, “Jogodo,” continues its strong performance on streaming platforms. The track has now surpassed 50 million streams and is currently the most-streamed Nigerian song of 2026 so far.
The figures reflect sustained streaming momentum for Nigerian music across both established and emerging acts.
