Nollywood stars are increasingly showing up on podcasts in ways that feel more open than traditional interviews allow. Away from tightly edited press appearances and promotional circuits, these conversations often stretch longer, feel less guarded, and sometimes reveal more than the usual talking points around films and careers.
In Nigeria, podcasting has grown steadily into a full creative space of its own. What began as a niche format has expanded into a wide network of shows covering entertainment, relationships, politics, business, and everyday social realities, including topics like migration and pop culture.
A major early driver of this growth was Loose Talk, the pop culture podcast hosted by Osagie Alonge, Ayomide Tayo, and Steve Dede. It helped introduce many listeners to the idea of podcasting as a serious conversation space rather than background noise. Since then, the ecosystem has expanded significantly, with more structured productions, improved studio setups, live events, brand partnerships, and a growing list of guests from across the entertainment industry.
For filmmakers and actors, podcasts have become an alternative space to speak more freely about their work, their careers, and sometimes their personal experiences in ways that traditional media formats do not always allow. For listeners, it offers something closer to extended, unfiltered conversation with public figures they are familiar with.
With that in mind, here are five podcasts where Nollywood celebrities are showing up in some of their most open conversations yet.
Hosted by Jola Ayeye and FK Abudu, I Said What I Said has carved out a firm place in the weekly routines of Nigerian millennials and young adults. The show covers everything including gossip, lifestyle, pop culture, friendships, family, love, money, and all the messy, funny, deeply relatable territory in between. What keeps listeners coming back, though, is the hosts themselves: their unfiltered honesty and natural chemistry make even the heaviest topics feel like a conversation you are already part of. Every Wednesday, they open the table to special guests who bring their own perspectives and energy to the mix. Nollywood has shown up more than once, with the likes of Teniola Aladese, Funmi Ogunbanwo, and Wale Davis all taking a seat at that table.

Hosted by actor and content creator Taymesan which is a sweet gist type of show where he discusses social issues and personal experiences in a fun, light-hearted and entertaining way with celebrities and special guests with exceptional stories to tell either way, he is sitting on a couch with guests to spill the tea. Some of the celebrities that have graced his couch include Stella Damascus, Abimbola Craig, Toke Makinwa, Daniel Etim Effiong and Natse Jemide.

Glitch Africa’s flagship podcast, The Honest Bunch, is the kind of show that makes you forget you are supposed to be doing something else. Built around four hosts; Nedu, Husband Material, Toun, and Ezinne? the show tackles real millennial and Gen Z conversations with zero filter and a lot of personality. Each host brings something distinctly their own to the table, and together they create a dynamic that is equal parts hilarious, surprisingly revealing, and genuinely informative. Occasionally a guest is usually someone whose experiences or perspective fits perfectly into whatever the hosts are dissecting that week. Nollywood veterans have found a home on the show too — Eucharia Anunobi, Yemi Solade, and Jude Kosoko have all pulled up a chair, sharing deep stories about their lives and careers over the years.

Hosted by Ifedayo Agoro, founder of skincare brand Dang Lifestyle, this podcast has grown into something that feels less like a show and more like a community. The conversations are rooted in solutions as real, thoughtful discussions around societal issues delivered with both warmth and genuine expertise. The guest list speaks to how seriously the show takes that mission like Diiadem, Toolz, Biodun Stephen, Blessing Obasi Nze, Shaffy Bello, Ruth Kadiri, Idia Aisien, and Kunle Remi have all come through, bringing their own experiences and insights to a table that always has room for an honest conversation.
Me, Her & Everything Else Podcast

The conversations are meant to celebrate, uplift and share stories that inspire women beyond Nigeria.
