The record-breaking Nollywood film “A Tribe Called Judah” will commence distribution across nine French-speaking African countries on Friday, Jan.19, 2024.

Film One Entertainment, the assigned distributor of record-breaking Nollywood movie “A Tribe Called Judah” in Nigeria, announced Wednesday that the film will start screening in 13 cities spanning nine French-speaking countries.

Overseen by Canal Olympia Showtimes Cinemas, the movie will screen in a total of 13 cities traversing Cameroon, Togo, Burkina Faso, Congo, Rwanda, Senegal, Guinea, Benin, and Gabon.

Currently the highest grossing Nigerian movie domestically after earning over ₦1.29 billion naira, “A Tribe Called Judah” has also shown in Nigeria, Ghana, and the UK prior to this new regional distribution deal.

Produced by award-winning filmmaker Funke Akindele, the film centers on five brothers who unite to commit a robbery to obtain money to help their ailing mother. With its balance of action, humor, and family bonds, “A Tribe Called Judah” continues to draw attention as a benchmark for Nollywood’s growing reach.

The Canal Olympia distribution across nine additional French-speaking African countries marks the next step in the film’s unprecedented cinema success. As the movie resonates with more international audiences, further overseas dominance seems imminent for Nigeria’s thriving film industry.

“A Tribe called Judah” is still showing in the Nigerian cinemas.
