Olamide’s 15th studio album, “Olamidé,” has debuted at No. 6 on the Billboard World Albums Chart, marking the rapper’s eighth appearance on the chart.
With this latest entry, Olamide ties with Fela Kuti as the Nigerian artiste with the most album placements on the Billboard World Albums Chart. He is followed by Davido and Wizkid with five entries each, while Burna Boy has four.
Olamide first charted in 2016 with “Street OT,” which remains his highest debut at No. 5. His 2024 release “Ikigai” is his lowest charting album to date, entering at No. 13.
So far, Burna Boy’s “Twice as Tall” remains the only Nigerian album to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard World Albums Chart, achieving the feat in August 2020.
In its debut week, “Olamidé” recorded 19.1 million streams on Spotify Nigeria, making it the third highest debut week for a Nigerian artist on the platform. Only Wizkid’s “Morayo” (35.8 million) and Davido’s “5ive” (27.6 million) had higher opening week streams.
