Showmax Unveils “Style Magnate,” A New Fashion Competition Show Premiering October 2024

Showmax has announced the upcoming premiere of its original reality series, “Style Magnate”, a fashion and design competition that will showcase the talents of 20 emerging designers.

The series, set to debut on October 4, 2024, will stream exclusively on Showmax, with new episodes released every Friday.

“Style Magnate” features contestants who were selected through a competitive audition process. Over the course of the show, these designers will face challenges designed to test their creativity, technical skills, and ability to perform under pressure.

The ultimate winner will receive a grand prize package worth 100 million Naira, which includes a 10 million Naira cash prize, a three-month internship, a one-bedroom loft apartment, and the title of “The Style Magnate”.

Leading the show is acclaimed Nigerian fashion designer Mai Atafo, who serves as the series’ Maestro. Known for his award-winning designs, Atafo will guide the contestants with his expertise and trademark tough love.

Joseph Benjamin, Nollywood actor and television host, brings his charm as the show’s host, while renowned stylist and costume designer Yolanda Okereke takes on the role of Fashion Principal.

Abisola Omolade, the executive producer of Style Magnate, emphasized the show’s mission to spotlight Africa’s vast creative talent. “Style Magnate was born out of a desire to showcase the raw talent and limitless creativity we have in Africa. This platform allows designers to learn, grow, and push the boundaries of fashion while being part of an evolving industry,” Omolade said.

In each episode, contestants will take on high-pressure tasks, including designing for major celebrities and creating sustainable fashion using recycled materials. With each challenge, the stakes rise, and the competition intensifies as designers form alliances, navigate rivalries, and strive to deliver show-stopping creations. Their work will be judged by industry experts and surprise celebrity guests.
