“Jurassic World: Rebirth,” the seventh film in the “Jurassic Park” franchise grossed ₦19.8 million in its second weekend in Nigerian theaters.

It’s  a -42% drop from the film’s ₦34.2 million opener, no thanks to “Superman’s ₦119 million opener.

The same story played out in its domestic North American market where “Jurassic World: Rebirth” grossed $40 million in it’s second weekend, a -56% decline from the $93 million three-day debut and a -72% drop from if a full five-day debut is considered.

As of this writing, the film has grossed over ₦72.4 million in the Nigerian market and over $500 million worldwide. Set against a $180 million production budget, it’s already a financial success. How much more of a success that can be depends on how stiff of a competition “Superman” and “The Fantastic Four: First Steps” can be.

“Jurassic World: Rebirth” stars Scarlet Johansson, Mahershalla Ali, Jonathan Bailey, Rupert Friend, Manuel Garcia-Rulfo, and Ed Skrein.
