The festival will run from October 29–31 in Abuja, spotlighting films on social justice and human rights.
The Africa Films for Impact Festival (AFFIF) has opened submissions for its 4th edition, themed “Be The Change,” scheduled for October 29–31, 2025, in Abuja.
The three-day festival, hosted at Silverbird Cinemas with virtual access worldwide, will feature narrative and documentary screenings — both shorts and features — alongside masterclasses, panel discussions, workshops, and the Impact Awards. These programs will tackle critical issues such as human rights, democratic governance, anti-corruption, human trafficking, gender equality, sexual and gender-based violence, climate action, drug abuse prevention, healthcare, peace and security, counter-terrorism, digital rights, and technology for social change.
Beyond screenings and discussions, AFFIF also supports capacity building and talent development through fellowship programs and its spotlight pitch-a-thon, providing funding opportunities for filmmakers committed to impactful storytelling.
Submissions can be made via FilmFreeway, with the deadline set for August 31, 2025. Official selections will be announced on September 15, 2025.
With backing from the MacArthur Foundation, AFFIF continues to nurture emerging filmmakers and amplify voices dedicated to social justice and human rights narratives through its Films for Impact Fellowship program.
