Wire Wire, a feature film directed by Bolanle Austen-Peters, has been selected to premiere at the 2026 Joburg Film Festival (JFF) in Johannesburg, South Africa.
The film is part of Austen-Peters’ 2026 slate and will screen as an official selection at the festival, which runs from March 3 to March 8. The premiere is scheduled for March 4 at Nu Metro Hyde Park at 7:15 p.m.
The project stars Bucci Franklin, Shaffy Bello, Olarotimi Fakunle, Blossom Chukwujekwu and Emeka Nwagbaraocha. Produced under the Bolanle Austen-Peters Productions banner, the film is positioned as a crime drama.

Austen-Peters announced the selection on Instagram while teasing Bello’s role in the film. “See who is the woman king here. I don’t know what you heard about Shaffy Bello but we are about to hear more,” she wrote.
The film joins a lineup of more than 30 titles scheduled for this year’s festival, including 6 Kings & 6 Queens by Molatelo Bossman, Aïcha by Mehdi Barsaoui, And She Didn’t Die by Kethiwe Ngcobo, BamBam by Tolulope Itegboje and Dust to Dreams by Idris Elba.
Now in its eighth edition and themed “Feel the Frame,” the Joburg Film Festival continues to spotlight African and international films across multiple venues in the city.
