Nearly two years after principal photography wrapped, Finding Messiah, Oscar Heman-Ackah’s upcoming political music thriller, appears to be edging closer to its long-awaited release.
The update follows a new teaser from Heman-Ackah, who reassured audiences that the film remains on track. First announced in 2024, Finding Messiah generated widespread buzz for its blend of political intrigue, music and action.
Heman-Ackah shared the latest update on his social media pages, unveiling new first-look images featuring members of the film’s ensemble cast, including Pete Edochie, Majid Michel, Segun Arinze, Fae Olumide, Tony Kgoroge, Adesua Etomi-Wellington, Stella Damasus, Susan Peters and Williams Benson.

“To everyone who has been asking whether Finding Messiah is coming… it is inevitable.”
Produced and directed by Heman-Ackah, Finding Messiah is set in the fictional nation of Zambay and also stars Alex Usifo, Bucci Franklin, Sunshine Rosman, Daddy Showkey and Uzi Kwednu. The film brings together actors from Nigeria and Ghana.
In his post, Heman-Ackah revealed that the project did not begin as a feature film.
“The goal wasn’t initially to make a film, but to create powerful content.”

According to him, the overwhelming response to the early material encouraged the team to expand the concept into a full-length feature.
While a release date has yet to be announced, Heman-Ackah says audiences can expect a bigger cinematic world, higher stakes and an ambitious directorial debut when Finding Messiah finally arrives.
