Dare Olaitan returns to the director’s chair with Alahun: The Weaver, his first directorial project since the 2022 supernatural thriller Ile Owo.
The fantasy adventure follows a young man whose passion for weaving baskets and plaiting hair becomes a source of ridicule in a society that believes such crafts are not meant for men.
Refusing to abandon his identity, he is drawn into a mystical journey that could determine the fate of his kingdom.
Produced by Kayode Kasum, Alahun: The Weaver stars Odunlade Adekola, Ibrahim Chatta, Lateef Adedimeji, Moshood Fattah, Kunle Remi, Omowunmi Dada, Faithia Williams and Ronke Oshodi Oke.
The film marks Olaitan’s return to directing after Ile Owo, which was released in cinemas in 2022.
Alahun: The Weaver will be distributed by Genesis and is set for theatrical release.
