The Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCA), Africa’s most prestigious film and television awards, held its 12th edition in Lagos on May 9, bringing together the biggest names in the industry to celebrate excellence in film, television, and digital storytelling.

While the night’s core purpose was recognition and celebration, fashion once again emerged as one of its defining highlights. From structural, avant-garde gowns to highly ambitious architectural designs inspired by European cathedrals, AMVCA 12 placed a strong spotlight on celebrity style, reflecting a growing confidence in creative expression on the red carpet.

Known for her dramatic fashion choices, Nana Akua Addo delivered three outfit changes throughout the night. She opened the evening in a strapless gown designed by Mohammed Abbas Ossu, inspired by Germany’s Cologne Cathedral. The skirt flared into a dome-like structure, featuring miniature Gothic window detailing, each carefully handcrafted, reflecting the scale of work behind the design.
