Netflix has announced the return of its exclusive event “Lights, Camera… Naija!”, scheduled for November 2, 2024, in Lagos.
The anticipated event aims to celebrate the talents and contributions that have shaped Nollywood into the global force it is today.
This year’s theme, “Pioneers, Pillars, and Players”, reflects the event’s focus on honoring three key groups within the industry.
Pioneers refer to the legends who laid the groundwork for Nollywood’s rise, Pillars celebrate the producers, directors, and crew who work behind the scenes, while Players highlight the actors whose on-screen presence has captivated audiences worldwide.
The announcement came over the weekend through a trailer released by Netflix Naija, offering a sneak peek into the festivities that will pay tribute to the best of Nigerian cinema. Following the success of the first edition, which featured performances by Nigerian artists like Chike and Niniola, this year’s event promises more star power, live performances, and appearances from some of Nollywood’s finest.
Netflix, which remains the leading streaming platform in Nigeria, continues to invest in original and acquired Nigerian content across multiple genres and languages.
The “Lights, Camera… Naija!” event is part of the company’s broader commitment to celebrating and supporting African storytelling and filmmakers.
