The psychological thriller tops this year’s list ahead of “Penguin” and “The White Lotus.”
Apple TV+’s “Severance” has emerged as the most-nominated series at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards, with a total of 27 nods announced on July 15, 2025.

Unveiled by Harvey Guillén and Brenda Song, the nomination list places “Severance” ahead of other top contenders including HBO’s “Penguin” with 24 nominations, “The Studio” and “The White Lotus” with 23 each, and “The Last of Us” with 16.
“Severance,” which stars Adam Scott and explores the psychological cost of work-life separation, earned major nominations in categories such as Outstanding Directing and Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. The series also recently led the Television Critics Association Awards with multiple mentions, including Program of the Year.

Other high-ranking nominees include Disney+’s “Andor” and HBO Max’s “Hacks,” each securing 14 nominations. Netflix’s “Adolescence,” as well as HBO’s “The Pitt” and FX’s “The Bear,” followed closely with 13 nominations apiece.

This year’s nomination list also featured notable milestones. Owen Cooper made Emmy history as the youngest-ever nominee for Outstanding Supporting Actor for his role in “Adolescence.” In a surprise return, Noah Wyle received his first Emmy nomination in 26 years for his performance in “The Pitt.”
