The Duffer Brothers’ hit series will conclude with eight episodes released in three parts, ending on New Year’s Day 2026.
“Stranger Things” Final Season to Debut November 27 on Netflix
Netflix has announced that the final season of “Stranger Things” will premiere in November, marking the beginning of the end for the beloved sci-fi series that launched in 2016. The streaming giant released the first trailer for the fifth season on Monday, alongside 12 promotional stills teasing what appears to be the show’s most intense chapter yet.
The final season will roll out in three batches: the first four episodes debut on November 27, 2025, followed by three more on December 26, with the final episode premiering on January 1, 2026.
Set in the fall of 1987, the new season picks up after the explosive events of Season 4, which left the town of Hawkins fractured by opened rifts to the Upside Down. The trailer offers a glimpse of returning threats, including demogorgons, and introduces new faces—most notably Linda Hamilton as Dr. Kay—as familiar characters prepare for a final showdown with the elusive villain Vecna.
According to the official synopsis, Hawkins is now under military quarantine, and the government has renewed its pursuit of Eleven, forcing her back into hiding. As the anniversary of Will Byers’ disappearance approaches, a familiar dread returns, especially for Will himself.
The ensemble cast features returning stars Millie Bobby Brown, Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Sadie Sink, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, Priah Ferguson, Brett Gelman, Jamie Campbell Bower, Cara Buono, and Amybeth McNulty. New additions include Nell Fisher, Jake Connelly, and Alex Breaux.
Produced by Upside Down Pictures and 21 Laps Entertainment, the series is executive produced by The Duffer Brothers, Shawn Levy, and Dan Cohen. After nearly a decade, “Stranger Things” will wrap up its supernatural saga with a final confrontation that promises drama, loss, and closure for the town of Hawkins.
