Shimataver Igbawua Wraps Filming on Debut “Language of the Wind”
Nigerian filmmaker and British Council Film Lab alumnus Shimataver Igbawua is set to make his debut feature-length entry into Nollywood with “Language of the Wind.”
Igbawua recently announced the completion of principal photography for the project, which was primarily shot in Northern Nigeria.
Known for producing the short film “Salamatu’s Rhapsody,” this marks Igbawua’s first independently produced feature as a filmmaker.
“After a year of growth—from a British Council Film Lab grant, to Film Africa in London, to Tribeca in New York—I’ve just wrapped principal photography on my debut feature film, Language of the Wind,” he wrote.
Details about the film’s plot, themes, and release are being kept deliberately under wraps to shape audience expectations.
“It’s a quiet project for now. But we’re preparing for something meaningful on the global stage,” he added.
