Abuja International Film Festival Marks 22 Years of Cinematic Excellence
The Abuja International Film Festival (AIFF) is set to celebrate its 22nd edition from November 6 to 10, highlighting its continued contribution to the appreciation of global cinema and the art of storytelling.
This year’s event will feature 70 film screenings, panel discussions, and capacity-building workshops aimed at promoting dialogue and skill development among filmmakers and film enthusiasts. The festival will open with a formal ceremony and conclude with an award gala recognizing outstanding works and emerging voices in filmmaking.
Since its inception, the AIFF has positioned itself as one of Nigeria’s most enduring film festivals, fostering artistic exchange and cultural understanding through cinema. Despite challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, the festival has remained consistent in offering a platform for local and international filmmakers.
The 2025 edition received over 1,592 film entries from 80 countries, reflecting its growing global reach.
According to the organizers, AIFF remains committed to promoting cross-cultural dialogue and showcasing diverse human experiences through film. Over two decades later, it continues to serve as a meeting point for filmmakers, industry professionals, and audiences who share a passion for the art of cinema.
