Studio achieves milestone with only 11 releases, led by Superman, Minecraft, and Sinners.
Warner Bros. Becomes First Studio to Cross $4B Box Office Mark in 2025
Warner Bros. has become the first studio in 2025 to surpass $4 billion at the global box office, following the opening weekend of Leonardo DiCaprio’s action thriller One Battle After Another.
The milestone is remarkable given that the studio reached a similar figure in 2019 with 20 theatrical releases, while in 2025 it achieved the record with just 11. Among its top-grossing titles this year are James Gunn’s Superman, Apple’s F1: The Movie, Jack Black’s Minecraft, and Ryan Coogler’s vampire drama Sinners.

The studio has consistently dominated the box office, with nine of its films topping charts and holding the number one spot for a combined 15 weeks locally and globally. Domestic earnings stand at $1.795 billion, while international markets contributed $2.2 billion. Warner Bros. also made history with seven consecutive films earning at least $40 million on opening weekend.
One Battle After Another debuted with $8.8 million on its first day, and projections suggest a $45 million opening weekend, which could further boost the studio’s record-setting year.
With only a handful of releases, Warner Bros. has demonstrated that fewer but high-performing titles can still deliver massive box office success, solidifying its lead in Hollywood’s competitive market.
