Nigerian producer-turned-artiste Young Jonn has suspended the release of his upcoming sophomore album, Blue Disco.
Originally set to drop on November 21,2025, he announced via X that the project would be held back by a week. In a reflective note to fans, he called the country’s current security situation “unbearable,” urging both leaders and citizens to “rise to do better” while praying for peace and stability.
He wrote:
“It’s disheartening that Nigeria is still confronted with such overwhelming challenges; the insecurity has become unbearable, and it’s very clear that the leaders and we citizens must rise to do better, even as we pray for God’s strength to guide and sustain us through these difficult times. In light of these, I’ve decided to postpone the release of my album BLUE DISCO to a later date.Above all, I’m praying for healing across our nation — that God restores peace, unity, and hope to Nigeria.”
Blue Disco arrives a year and a half after Young Jonn’s debut album, Jiggy Forever. The forthcoming project reportedly packs 20 tracks and boasts heavyweight features, including Wizkid, Olamide, Rema, and Asake.
This isn’t the first time Nigeria’s political climate has reshaped music release schedules. In 2024, Tems delayed the drop of her Burning music video amid intense nationwide protests, highlighting a pattern of artistes adjusting their rollouts in response to the country’s unrest.
