Juliet Ibrahim and Deyemi Okanlawon were among the winners at the 15th Ghana Movie Awards, held at the Kempinski Hotel Gold Coast City in Accra on June 8.
Ibrahim’s short film Behind a Lie won Best Short Movie, adding to the film’s festival run following its premiere at AFRIFF 2025. Okanlawon received Best Actor in an African Collaboration for his performance in Sukura.
Sukura emerged as one of the night’s top winners, taking home Best Picture alongside several technical awards.
The ceremony also recognized a number of Ghanaian talents. Amanda Jissih won Best Actress in a Leading Role for Kone, while Kwadwo Nkansa received Best Actor in a Leading Role for Captain Ibrahim Traore.
Filmmaker Frank Rajah Arase’s Virgin of the Throne secured multiple awards, including Best Director and Best Screenplay.
Television and digital productions were also recognized during the ceremony. Fella Makafui won Lead Actress in Drama or Comedy for her role in Kunle Afolayan’s Aníkúlápó series, while Onua TV’s Onua Showtime was named Outstanding Variety Talk Show of the Year.
The Ghana Movie Awards annually recognize achievements in film and television, bringing together practitioners from across the African screen industry.
