TAFM 2024 Unveils Official Selections and Jury for Pan-African Film Festival

The Annual Film Mischief (TAFM) has announced its official selections for the 2024 festival, following a robust submission process that saw over 100 entries from Ghana, Nigeria, and Tanzania.
According to Film Rats founder Chukwu Martin, 25 films made the final cut after a rigorous selection process aimed at celebrating African culture and diverse storytelling.
This year’s theme, “Shoot The Culture Too,” is an extension of last year’s mission to spotlight African stories through a variety of genres. The selected films range from short films and feature-length projects to documentaries, promising a thought-provoking and inspiring experience for audiences.
Some of the selected films include “Tina When Will You Marry?” by Celestina Abeboa, “The Queen” by Chisom Valarie Ifechukwu, “On Your Own” by Daniel O. Itegboje, “Where’s Chijoke?” by Chude Jideonwo, and “With Difficulty Comes Ease” by Korede Azeez.
The festival will take place across four cities, with screenings at:
- Lagos: Viva Cinemas, October 10-12
- Abuja: African School of Economics, October 12
- Accra: Silverbird Cinemas, October 9-10
- Dar Es Salaam: Ajabu Ajabu, October 25-26
In addition to the screenings, TAFM 2024 will feature several networking events and conversations with filmmakers and industry experts. These sessions aim to foster a vibrant exchange of ideas, offering valuable insights into the evolving world of African cinema.
The festival jury has also been revealed, with acclaimed filmmaker Ego Boyo returning as a juror. Joining her are Tanzanian filmmaker Hatibu Madudu, Nigerian actress Najite Dede, and producer Omoladun Adenuga.
